The best way to answer (which my favorite is) is to ask if there were only a single product, which one would I take? That would have to be the OS X version. The iPad is close second but the 1.0 version isn't quite there yet. Don't get me wrong, I use it daily both at home and at the office. The addition of reviews means I could live with the iPad version only, but it would be a compromise.
I've been using the development builds and it's really exciting to see how things are coming together. It's very close to being ready, at this point it's all about fixing the rough edges and working on the UI.
The OmniFocus tools are useful whether or not you're following the 'Getting Things Done' principles. Once you're familiar with the workflow of capture, process, action, and review, you're on your way and complicated task management gets much easier.
This app needs to be more than a place to store your to-dos, you know? It needs to be a pleasure to interact with. It needs to be a place you want to go on a regular basis. It needs to be satisfying.
It's also because drag-and-drop still wins for speed when I'm working through an inbox. Further, if I'm digging through other notes or tools for items that need to be processed, having multiple windows open in a 'traditional' desktop environment lets me get that stuff into OmniFocus more efficiently than it does on the iPad. On the iPhone: The phone has some advantages and disadvantages that make it's place in my use very specific.
We knew that most people would want something like these views, so why not provide them in the first place? And if you want something slightly different, the rebuilt Perspectives interface makes it straightforward to adjust them or create your own. Onward Of course, all of these improvements, and the cornucopia of improvements I haven’t mentioned, have been tempered by needing to avoid changing the architecture or character of the app too drastically. So the really exciting new work is going into OmniFocus 2, the design of which is turning out to be a vanguard for the future of Omni Mac apps.

Review is the OmniFocus secret weapon. One of the most powerful tools you can bring to a 21st-century task management system is a discipline review process. Review in OmniFocus lets you see what is and is not getting done, and lets you re-evaluate priorities. OmniFocus has some powerful review tools, and I'm going to show you how to use them. Some of this may sound familiar to you if you've ever used the 'Getting Things Done' workflow.

It gives you some more convenience and saves time. At a pricepoint of less than $150, it pays for itself. For me and most of my clients, it's equal to less than an hour of our work time.
